On April 5, 2023, State Councilor and Foreign Minister Qin Gang met in Beijing with Indonesia's Coordinator for Cooperation with China and Coordinating Minister of Maritime Affairs and Investment Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan.

Qin Gang said that this year marks the 10th anniversary of the establishment of the China-Indonesia comprehensive strategic partnership, and the first year of building the China-Indonesia community with a shared future. Bilateral relations are now standing at a new historical starting point. China is willing to work with Indonesia to follow the strategic guidance of the two heads of state, further enhance strategic mutual trust, strengthen pragmatic cooperation, and join hands in working for modernization and promoting regional development and prosperity.

Qin Gang pointed out that against the backdrop of changing and turbulent international situation, China maintains a high degree of continuity and stability in its domestic and foreign policies, which will inject great certainty and positive energy into regional and global peace and tranquility, and will add stronger momentum to mutually beneficial cooperation between China and Indonesia. China is ready to work with Indonesia to plan high-level exchanges between the two countries and make top-level designs for building a China-Indonesia community with a shared future in the next stage. The two sides should ensure the Jakarta-Bandung High-Speed Railway can be opened to traffic smoothly, make solid progress in advancing the construction of such key projects as the Regional Comprehensive Economic Corridor and "Two Countries, Twin Parks", and forge new growth points for cooperation in areas such as infrastructure, smart city and green energy, so as to improve and upgrade bilateral practical cooperation. The interests of China and ASEAN countries are closely intertwined. Noting that Indonesia is this year's rotating chairmanship of ASEAN, Qin Gang hopes that Indonesia will give full play to its advantages and promote greater solidarity and coordination among regional countries. China is ready to work with Indonesia to jointly uphold ASEAN centrality, steer East Asia cooperation in the right direction, and safeguard regional peace, stability, development and prosperity.

Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan said that Indonesia and China have respected each other and enjoyed a high degree of mutual trust, with fruitful outcomes and mutual benefits yielded from bilateral cooperation. Indonesia is ready to work with China to continuously advance key projects such as the Jakarta-Bandung High-Speed Railway and "Two Countries, Twin Parks", deepen cooperation in fields including science and technology, maritime affairs, fishery, and health care and medical services, and build an Indonesia-China community with a shared future. The two sides should strengthen dialogue and coordination to jointly promote regional peace and stability. Indonesia hopes to join hands with China in upholding the Bandung Spirit, promoting South-South cooperation and safeguarding the common interests of developing countries.
