Notice of the Chinese Embassy and Consulates General in Indonesia on COVID-19 Prevention and Control Requirements for China-bound Travelers
(Effective from 0:00 on 17 January 2023. In case of inconsistency with previous regulations, this notice shall prevail.)

According to the temporary measures for the travel of Chinese and foreign personnel after managing COVID-19 as a Class B Infectious Disease issued by the Chinese Government on 27 December 2022 and the Notice of the Chinese Embassy and Consulates General in Indonesia on the Implementation of Temporary Measures for the Travel of Chinese and Foreign Personnel, all China-bound travelers need to take nucleic acid test for COVID-19 within 48 hours before boarding and can only travel to China when the test results is negative.

To ensure the health and safety of passengers of international travel, starting from 17 January 2023, airlines operating China-bound flights will be responsible for checking passengers’ negative test results taken within 48 hours before boarding. Please carry a hard copy of the test result and cooperate with the checks. China Customs may conduct random checks of the proof of negative result upon entry.

Please read carefully and follow them to enjoy a smooth trip. Guide on Epidemic Prevention and Control Measures for China-bound Travelers

I. Pre-boarding Nucleic Acid Test

All China-bound travelers will need to take nucleic acid testfor COVID-19 within 48 hours before boarding, and can onlytravel to China when your test result is negative or after it turnsfrom positive to negative. Please always bring the proof of yournegative COVID-19 test result with you for inspection.

II. Health Declaration to China Customs

You are required to declare your negative test result to ChinaCustoms by filling the Health Declaration Form on the WeChatmini-program of China Customs (scan the QR code below), or athttps://htdecl.chinaport.gov.cn, or via the China Customs APP.



III. Boarding Check

At boarding time, airlines will check if you have a negativeresult within 48 hours, and those who fail to present such a proofwill not be allowed to board the plane.

IV. Self-protection on the Aircraft

You are suggested to wear a mask throughout the flight andtake good personal protection to reduce the risk of infection.

V. Inspection upon Entry

You can go through customs with your health declarationresult, and China Customs may check your proof of negativeCOVID-19 test result.

If you pass the health declaration and entry inspection, nofurther requirements will be imposed.

If there are anomalies in your health declaration or you areshowing symptoms such as fever, you are required to take anantigen test by China Customs. Those whose results are positivewill need to self-quarantine or seek medical treatment as notifiedby the authority. Those whose results are negative will gothrough routine quarantine inspection by China Customs inaccordance with the Frontier Health and Quarantine Law andother laws and regulations.

VI. After-entry Epidemic Prevention and Control

After entry into China, you will have to strictly abide by theepidemic prevention and control requirements of the place whereyou stay.


Requirements for Proof of COVID-19 Test

I. The proof must have the name of the traveler, whichshould be exactly the same as it appears on the travel documentused for the flight. It is recommended that the date of birth andtravel document number also be shown on the proof.

II. The proof must also have:

l time of the test or time of issue (at least one of them shouldbe within 48 hours before boarding);

l testing method (which should be nucleic acid testing; antigentesting will not be accepted);

l test result (which should be negative; ‘uncertain’ will not beaccepted);

l and name and contact details of the testing institution.

III. The proof must be in the official language of the placeof departure of your flight to China, or in English. It will bechecked by the airline of your flight to China.

IV. It should be a hard copy. If the testing institution issueda digital copy, please print it out and take it with you.
