Notice of the Chinese Embassy and Consulates General in Indonesia on Accepting Visa-free Travel to China by Holders of Virtual APEC Business Travel Card (ABTC)
2023-02-20 12:00

In order to further promote and facilitate the exchange of business personnel in the Asia-Pacific region, China has decided to accept personnel from relevant economies of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) to enter China with virtual APEC Business Travel Card (ABTC) from May 1, 2023. A physical ABTC’s function of entering China remains unchanged.

In view of this, an Indonesian citizen who holds a valid virtual ABTC can enter China within the validity period of the virtual ABTC when also bringing the original Indonesian passport associated with the virtual ABTC, and can stay for 60 days each time without applying for visa.

As a transitional arrangement, if Indonesian holders of virtual ABTC need to apply for visa to China before May 1, 2023, the Chinese Embassy and Consulates General in Indonesia will provide visa application facilitation. For specific requirements, please directly contact the relevant missions according to the division of consular districts.

Unless otherwise specified, the entry measures of holders of virtual ABTC also apply to other foreign nationals besides Indonesian.
